When ergonomics meets economics

We were at a Cingular store this afternoon when my sweety nudged me and pointed to one of the computers behind the counter. Did you know that Brillo also made wrist rests for your mouse? Yeah me neither. Here, have a look:

My phone takes smudgy pictures, but this here is what Diane would call a fine piece of “country” ergonomic equipment. Only we’re in a big city. Not just in a big city, in a shop that sells the latest in cell phone technology. Electronic gadgets. And they have this proudly displayed at their checkout counter? I mean seriously, it even had the green scrubbing surface on the bottom! I guess you can ease tension in your wrists and scrub those pots clean.
