Something for the gay community
I got a request today to help spread the word of a lesbian-owned online store. So I figured, why not? Help a sister out. Gay pride and all that stuff. But more than anything I’m doing it because 1) she already wrote up a press release, and 2) I couldn’t think of anything else to post this morning. So here it is, my community service effort:
SLINC GLBT MERCHANDISE GRAND RE-OPENING
Detroit, MI – December 6, 2006- The owner of the GLBT online merchandise store, SLINC, would like to announce the online stores grand re-opening. In 2003 Kelly Leszczynski opened SLINC as a creative outlet and way to make some extra cash. In the past 3 years the site has grown to over 400 designs on over 50 different products. Leszczynski blames her creative itch and her interesting friends for many of the original designs seen on the website. “When my friends and I get together inevitably someone will say something that is T-shirt worthy.” She said.
SLINC does currently cater its designs towards the lesbian community, but Leszczynski is currently expanding the store’s gay, bisexual, and transgender sections. “We’re always looking for new design ideas.” Leszczynski said, “Visitors to the website are encouraged to email me their ideas. If I use them I’ll send them some free products of their choice!” There are so many designs to choose from that you are bound to find something that is perfect for you or a friend.
“I like to use the motto ‘Your chest is your billboard’,” said the SLINC shop owner, “The shops political section has been a huge hit for that reason alone. Many people like to wear their views on their chest” SLINC doesn’t just dabble in GLBT designs either. There is a huge selection of non sexual preference related designs in the shops More Than Queer section. This section contains a few wonderfully inspiring designs involving the all American mullet.
Although T-shirts are the sites biggest product seller SLINC also offers pins, stickers, and GLBT Pride Art. “The art section allows me to be a bit more serious with my designs.” said Leszczynski. Some of the websites best selling designs proclaim, “If the trailer’s rockin’ don’t come a knockin’” and a cute little rainbow colored dinosaur aptly named “Dykeosourus Rex.”
In honor of the grand re-opening SLINC will feature a new design every day until the end of the year. The prices on the products available on the featured design will be marked down for a full twenty-four hours. That means T-shirts for $9.99 and Hoodies for $24.99!
