None the wiser
As to be expected, various coworkers were concerned for my health and asked me how I was feeling. If you recall, I called in sick yesterday so I could stay home and take care of my honey. I wasn’t sick at all. But I wasn’t about to tell them that.
I told them I had the flu but I was feeling much better today. One remarked that I did look a little sick, while another commented that I looked like I haven’t been well. Really, I should be offended. But it’s okay, that was my intention all along. I purposely wore dark clothing so as to make my pale self look even paler. I also made sure I drooped a little and spoke with little energy. It was enough to convince them I had been diseased. Having the skin tone of a vampire does have its advantages.
