Lesson Learned
I was walking to the lunchroom this morning when this lady came out into the hallway ahead of me. She was wearing a bright yellow overcoat. Whatever was going through my mind at the time was immediately forgotten and I started thinking, “Wow that is a yellow coat! Really yellow. Yellowyellowyellow. Bright. And YELLOW! That is so yellow.” I couldn’t stop staring at the back of this coat it was so yellow. My mouth actually opened once. I knew what it was up to, it was trying to put a voice to my errant thoughts again. Oh no you don’t! Not two days in a row! I own you, you will obey me! Here, have a foot!
My mouth thankfully clamped shut and no words were spoken. It wouldn’t have been an insult, but I would have sounded like the biggest moron. Even if I am the biggest moron, I have to work here. I need to maintain the image of smart-cookie-ness.
