I have all of you to thank
I decided to take the advice of some of you illustrious TV watchers here. You seem to know what you’re talking about. And since you like to frequent my blog, you must have good taste, right? I received Season 1, Disc 1 of Grey’s Anatomy from Netflix just in time for the weekend. So many of you liked it, it was worth a try.
What. An. Awesome. Show! I love love loved it! We both did! We watched all five episodes on that DVD. I’ve always been a huge sucker for smart dialogue, and there is a lot of it in this show. The characters are very engaging and there are so many witty repartees everywhere I just fell for the show head over heels. We can’t believe we didn’t discover it sooner.
When Episode Five was over my sweety turns to me we have the following conversation:
Her: We have Disc 2, right?
Me: Um, I wasn’t sure if we’d like it, so I only ordered the first disc.
Her: What??
Me: But I can move it to the top of the Netflix queue and have it arrive next!
Her: But I want it now!
Me: I know, me too.
[A brief period of the two of us pouting]
Her: Can you go rent it?
Me: From, like a Blockbuster?
Her: Yeah!
Me: That’s a good idea!
Her: I know!
Me: Woohoo, I’m going to go find it!
Later on I come back from the video store, triumphant in finding Disc 2…
Her: You found it?
Me: Yup!
Her: Yaayyyy!
[I’m grinning triumphantly until she notices I only have one disc.]
Her: You only brought one?
Me: There were only two discs in the season.
Her: What, really??
Me: I know. What a short season.
[Another brief period of more pouting]
Her: Okay let’s go watch it.
Me: Okay!
