Ooooh, you and me both.
I once had a sore left calf from the clutch on the car. How sad is that?

I love biking. I think my bike on the garage most likely has cobwebs on it at the moment.

From the clutch? Ha! Oh sorry, I shouldn’t laugh. But that is funny.

Geeky Dragon Girl | 06.09.2006 | 10:12 AM

hey wait a minute...aren’t you just a kid...what 20 something - buck up! smile

weese | 06.09.2006 | 10:34 AM

I’m more out of shape, I’m out of breath after three floors, no joke. Sad..I’m so sad! I think we should start a fitness challenge. (I’m too lazy to start it!)

Dana | 06.09.2006 | 10:41 AM

Weese, yeah I’m a kid… a 33-year-old one (though inside I’m only 12).

Dana, those fitness challenges just don’t work for me. I always find ways to cheat. I need to find some real motivation, to get me off my ass TODAY rather than tomorrow.

Geeky Dragon Girl | 06.09.2006 | 10:50 AM

If you find it can you let me know who, what and where it is. Because I’ve been searching high and low and I can’t seem to find it either.

And bathing suit season is here!

Damn.

stephanie | 06.09.2006 | 10:52 AM

Atleast you made it to the bottom. I wouldn’t have lasted 10 minutes. They would have found me lounging on the stairwell waiting for a hunky fireman to carry me down in his arms....

D | 06.09.2006 | 12:10 PM

That’s really funny. My wife once went shopping and walked all over downtown SF carrying big shopping bags for a whole day. Her feet were so swollen afterwards she couldn’t walk hahaha.

jackt | 06.09.2006 | 12:22 PM

Be thankful it was going downstairs, and not upstairs...that’d kill me too.

Donna | 06.09.2006 | 12:55 PM

Ouch! Poor thing. HOpe the soreness stops soon. I’m a great believer in Motrinsmile

Vixen | 06.09.2006 | 1:42 PM

Well...at least you didn’t have to climb 13 floors worth of stairs huh?

I’ve been trying to walk 3 miles a day myself...when I started this a couple of weeks ago I found out how out of shape I was. (And old too)

mike | 06.10.2006 | 7:43 AM

Have you ever done pilates? It sneaks up on you like that. You feel great while you’re doing it, but then next day, you hurt like hell. I did pilates yesterday and I really hurt right now.

Heather | 06.10.2006 | 9:02 AM

Stephanie, I think my best inspiration is the thought that becoming a decrepit, feeble old person frightens me. Staying in shape is the best way to avoid this.

Di, those firemen do tend to be rather hot, don’t they?

Jackt, oy, what shoes was she wearing?

Donna, true, having to go UP that many stairs would’ve killed half the staff.

Vixen, I tend to use medication on if absolutely necessary. Like those couple days in the month when cramps are nearly debilitating.

Mike, I don’t think age is the main factor at all. There are tons of folks twice my age that are in much better shape than I am. They could run circles around me. That’s awesome you’re doing 3 miles a day. I’m lucky if I do 3 miles a week.

Heather, I can see how pilates can give you a world of soreness the following day. Those exercises work just about everything!

Geeky Dragon Girl | 06.10.2006 | 10:35 AM

Hope your calfs recover soon!

I’m gonna have the same problenm after baby is born and I go for my first run again, really not looking forward to the day after that! gulp

Sarah | 06.10.2006 | 11:12 AM

Well today they were okay enough to walk around a beach town after breakfast. Still not back to normal yet. Your first run should probably not be as far as you used to go. I’ll bet you’re looking forward to it though.

Geeky Dragon Girl | 06.10.2006 | 1:35 PM

I’m glad to hear you’re feeling better. Me, I’ve got the boysies this weekend, so the only running around I’m doing is after them!

stephanie | 06.10.2006 | 2:43 PM

That should be plenty of exercise. Little boys are nonstop balls of energy!

Geeky Dragon Girl | 06.11.2006 | 10:58 AM

When I was in college, I lived on the 27th floor of a 28 floor dormitory. People used to pull the alarm for shits and giggles. After the second time the alarm went off, I stopped going down. I’d rather die in a fire than to have to walk down all those steps. PLUS it made me so dizzy that I thought I was going to fall.

Now, the one and ONLY time I walked UP those stairs is something entirely different. The damn electricity was out because of an ice storm. Only the electricity was out for like, 5 days. We ran out of alcohol and WTF are we going to do with no electricity? Oh, yeah...fuck like wild monkeys and drink alcohol! Duh.

Anyway, going up was much, much worse. I cried around the 16th floor and had to stop for air (and a beer...and a cigarette.) I dunno how I finally made it, but I never tried it again and moved out of that dorm the next semester.

Kentucky Girl | 06.12.2006 | 3:14 AM

Ouch, up is definitely much worse. That’s a huge dorm!

Geeky Dragon Girl | 06.12.2006 | 7:34 AM

wow ...you’re 33. i had no idea you were sold… old

weese | 06.12.2006 | 10:51 AM

Ha ha. That’s because I act like a 12-year old most of the time.
