Heehee, it’s a traffic alert. I think the back-story is there was this traffic reporter named Sigmund or Siggy or whatever, and whenever there was a major accident causing delays on the freeway, he would call it a “SigAlert”. I guess the name stuck because they use it all the time, at least on the radio.
ha.. californians. you are a different breed.
well, at least that what think on the right coast.

You’ve partied in Tijuana at least 3 times. You don’t remember any of them.
This statement discriminates against nerds like me who don’t go anywhere, and whose idea of a great party involves paper and dice (and I’m not talking about Yahtzee).

You are awesome, do you know that?
And Fatburger is much better than In-N-Out, anyways.
Gotcha.
Now what about the other two?
hehe ... I’m such a curious sort. Plus, you never know when I might find myself over there, not knowing wth is what. It’s your duty to educate me.
*wink*
The other two? Oh! The other things mentioned in that line. Heh, you mean you don’t know??
“The Five” refers to the interstate 5 freeway, which is pretty much the main artery that connects San Diego with LA, and southern cali with the north. PCH refers to the Pacific Coast Highway, which is a long stretch of road that runs along the coast. Some parts of it is pretty, other parts it’s just another city street.
Avitable, to me a burger is a burger is a burger. So long as it isn’t McDonalds or some other low-grade fast food joint, it’s all good.
Weese, damn right we are! Aliens even!
I am now fully educated.
Your cheque is in the mail.

SOOOOOOOOOOOOO different than Massachusetts. I posted one of these about MA a long time ago and I fit most of them sadly.
I visited MA once. People zipping left turns without the benefit of a turn arrow right when the light turns green instead of waiting for oncoming traffic to pass, that makes the “California roll” look like a Sunday stroll.
I was going to ask what is a SigAlert, but I see J. beat me to the punch. But I did know about “the 5” and the PCH.
I really like all the rural backwaters I’ve lived in… 1,000 people in 1,000 square miles is too crowded for me.
Gotta go, more wood to chop for the stove, fences to mend, and hogs to slop.
LOL...most of those apply to all of CA...at least to the bay area, too. Heh. I don’t eat In and Out burgers. Yucky. Gimme a Nation’s burger though. Yum.
In and Out is the BEST!!
Here’s another one: Breaking news consists of watching cops chase a criminal’s car on the freeway. For some reason, we are supposed to want to watch this. Remember the OJ Bronco chase? I personally switch off the news when a freeway chase comes on…
Oh yeah, yesterday I did a post about California living myself:
orange and yellow
KG, I’ve never seen a Nations burger place before. I’ll have to take your word for it.
Mar, they do have good burgers, but their fries are icky.
Sonja, oh goodness yes. Like watching a car driving down the freeway is supposed to fascinate me.
What the heck is a SigAlert?
