Crap...forgot to subscribe to comments. Don’t mind me.
I hate Vista.
Hate.
I just ordered (today) two brand new Dell laptops and they both come with XP. Most computer companies are offering both because of the Vista backlash.
Avi, that’s awesome. If I had a bit more cash I would’ve definitely custom ordered one with XP on it.
J, you’re not alone.
Danalyn, it’s extremely sad they don’t offer XP drivers! What’s wrong with them?? Do the individual components have XP drivers? Like the video card company or the wireless unit’s manufacturer? Vista really is a resource hog. I thought service packs were supposed to fix things? I think I’ll wait a year before installing SP1.
Oh, and thanks for telling me about Programs and Features, I was totally confused about where they hid Add/Remove programs! I guess they didn’t want me uninstalling some of the crap it comes with [coughNortonSecurityNagwarecough].
I’m still wondering WHY they changed “Add and Remove Programs” to “Programs and Features”...makes no sense whatsoever.
My laptop doesn’t have any drivers for XP...Vista is kinda slow on it, and I thought about reformatting it, but when I looked it up, no drivers. It makes me sad.
I’m getting used to Vista though. But I just installed SP1, and now it doesn’t recognize my activation. I have to call MS to get it activated again.
I called earlier today, but their lines were busy. Assholes.
