You’re absolutely right!
If this would make you truly uncomfortable and miserable, stay away. However, are these good friends? Would they be hurt and disappointed if you didn’t attend the celebration?
They have plenty of friends attending, I’m sure it’ll be fine. Besides, it’s an hour drive.
I hope that you had fun at your friends party. I would love to hear if it was better than you thought.
