Congratulations on getting your own place! Paying mortgage is always better than paying rent. You are, in effect, paying money to yourselves.
I tend to be passive-aggressive too. Your brother-in-law to be probably feels uncomfortable with a couple staying long term at his place. I know I would be even if I loved them which he probably does.

I imagine that’s why a lot of people blog...to vent, to help sort stuff out in your head etc.
But that’s fantastic that you’re on your way to getting your own place. Really exciting!! Passive agressive people frustrate me sooo much...not sure I could live with it.
