Atleast they tasted good...a little on the dry side. Hey but it was your first time, tomorrow it will be better.

Awww! Look at the widdle waffle bugs!!

adena | 05.25.2006 | 7:04 PM

I loved the first ones...the alien waffles. They were cute!

Vixen | 05.25.2006 | 7:26 PM

I think they resemble baby turtles myself...but bugs/turtles...don’t they all taste like waffles?

mike | 05.25.2006 | 8:26 PM

Aw the waffle bugs made me giggle!

Mr. EC especially loves belgian waffles and I keep saying we’re gonna get a waffle iron but never get round to it. If I showed him this he’d be all jealous, I can hear it already “See they’ve got one why can’t I have one” smile

I’m still in awe over my cow shaped toasted sandwich maker cow

(Ha ha, I mention cow and when I look down my verification word is beefy!)

Heeee! Cute little waffle bugs!
I don’t know if I could’ve brought myself to eat them.

YOU are cute, chicklet.

But damn, now I want a waffle iron.
Stop spending my money.

(ummm ... who the hell you calling a halfwit? buahaaaa! nice girl, nice)

NUMMERS! I love waffles. Sometimes with a teaspoon of peanut butter or a pat of butter...but mostly just naked.

I use this recipe for whole wheat waffles: http://tinyurl.com/m2rob

It makes a ton of mix that I just store in a zippy container and make them every day for breakfast. BTW, with this recipe, you can eliminate 1TBS of the oil and add in about half a crushed banana to the batter for ‘naner waffles. Or you can add applesauce and some cinnamon for cinnamon apple waffles. dance

I have a PRIMO waffle recipe at home (Danish waffles - uhmmmmm! smile ), if you want, I can send it to you?

Maria | 05.26.2006 | 12:41 AM

Mmmm waffles! Hey that one sorta looks like a turtle with two extra legs..

Donna | 05.26.2006 | 6:55 AM

You should keep making the bugs! You can decorate them using toppings like ladybug designs or something!

Carolyn | 05.26.2006 | 7:38 AM

I like the waffle bugs! They were cute. My 2 year old would love them!

Dana | 05.26.2006 | 7:54 AM

"Viscious waffle bugs! I was immediately enamored by them and started playing with them. La dee dah waffle bugs crawling off the plate and across the table.”

You know, most days I can’t decide if I want to give you a hug or laugh at you. wink

Joefish | 05.26.2006 | 8:21 AM

Waffles aren’t my thing. I like pancakes. Although, I gotta say, them are some cute waffles.

T. | 05.26.2006 | 8:32 AM

mmm

weese | 05.26.2006 | 10:03 AM

Mar, yeah it wasn’t too bad for a first run.

Adena, they are adorable aren’t they?

Vixen, heh alien waffles, I like that. Makes you half-expect a smaller alien waffle to jump out at you.

Mike, perhaps chicken and waffles?

Sarah, it makes toasted sandwiches in the shape of… cows? Neat!

J, ha! It’s the power of subconscious suggestion. “Stop spending my money,” that’s funny.

KG, some mashed up banana would definitely give it more flavor and moistness. I should try it… soon as I get some bananas.

Ooh Danish waffles… in a Belgian waffle iron? Would they have dual citizenship?

Donna, they’re alien turtles!

Carolyn, ooh yes, like chocolate for spots! and strawberry syrup for color!

Dana, I see a kid’s market for my waffle bugs…

Joefish, I’d be more inclined to laugh at me. I know I do! LOL

T, pancakes are definitely easier, that’s for sure.

Triple! After all, they’re made by an American wink

Anyway, here’s the receipe. They’re easy as to make, and ABSOLUTELY delicious… if I have to say so myself wink

The amounts are in metric, but I’ll do my best to convert ‘on the fly’.

Danish Waffels
250g (1 cup) flour (sheesh, I wrote flower at first wink )
1 Tbsp sugar
1 Tsp baking powder
1 pinch of salt
0.6 liter milk (2 2/5 cup)
1 egg
150gr (5.5 oz) melted margerine/butter

Mix flour, sugar and baking powder with milk and egg.
Add the margerine.
Make waffels
Eat waffels woot

They taste great with icing sugar, butter, ordinary sugar and jam - I’ve never tried them with syrup (not a Danish thing...), but I’m sure that’d work out fine as well.

Let me know what you think, if you ever decide to try them grin

Maria | 05.28.2006 | 1:14 AM

I’ll be sure to let you know. Thanks for the recipe!

Geeky Dragon Girl | 05.29.2006 | 1:00 PM
