You should see the gigantic, frame rattling, wheel alignment distorting, bone jarring mountains our parking lot calls speed bumps.  Seriously.

I hate pedestrians like that, but what really irks me are bicyclists.  They whined and complained about not having bike paths and now years & and tax payer dollars later those same idiots are still riding in the streets, blocking traffic...I don’t understand riding bikes in traffic on major roads and wondering why people want to run you off the road.  K yells at them from windows and tells them to get bumpers or get their a** off the road!

Di | 04.27.2006 | 10:10 AM

I forgot to say that they whined and whined and so the city has built many fine, wide, nicely paved, landscaped bike paths that go nearly un-used.

Di | 04.27.2006 | 10:11 AM

I could never ride my bike in traffic. It just takes one mirror sticking out from a truck to clip you and there you go sprawling, likely getting run over by the same truck. Perhaps it’s the cynical city girl in me, but trust no one! Even the good drivers have bad days or get distracted.

Geeky Dragon Girl | 04.27.2006 | 10:24 AM

I hate asshole pedestrians. I hate asshole drivers. I live in a city that has some wonderful bike paths and bike lanes in streets. Bike paths are for recreation. Bike lanes are to get there from here, mostly. NOT EVERYBODY DRIVES. Yes 99.99 % of the country does--but some of us must walk (or ride a bike). I want everybody to follow the rules. I want the rules to make sense. I want -if you’re going to create a bike lane--that motorists don’t encroach them AND that if you create a bike lane on a stretch of road--FINISH IT. Many pedestrians & bicyclists are stupid. Many motorists are stupid too. I have nearly been hit Many Many Many times, while crossing the street in the cross walk-with the light--by bicylists and motorists. Basically, many people are stupid and yes, assholes. ok done now-thanks for providing the space for my Thursday Tirade. --my verification word-masochist-yes, I must be.

We don’t have a lot of parking garages here. We do have drivers who like to take up two spaces in the mall parking lot though because of fear of getting a nick or dent in their car. Those people piss me off and every chance I get I park as close to the driver’s side of their vehicle ensuring the assbags have to use the passenger door to get in their vehicle.

mike | 04.27.2006 | 10:37 AM

Deborah, looks like today’s a great day for griping!

Mike, I guess you must drive a junker that you don’t care if it gets keyed or not? Some people take things entirely too personally sometimes and doing what you do is likely to incite a bit of revenge.

Geeky Dragon Girl | 04.27.2006 | 11:10 AM

I saw a tag on the halloween costumes last year that said “Cape does not enable wearer to fly” I laughed out loud.

Are people getting dumber or less responsible?  It kills me.  Just do me a favor K?  Watch out for moving vehicles in the garage.

Keb | 04.27.2006 | 11:28 AM

You’re kidding, the tag said that? And it was being serious?? People are getting dumber. It’s damn scary. Actually people are just getting more annoying. A parent’s stupid brat jumps off a building and they sue the cape manufacturer for not warning people that their capes were not of the magical flying variety.

Geeky Dragon Girl | 04.27.2006 | 11:36 AM

What about the people in parking garages that go the WRONG way against the obvious arrows pointed in the OTHER direction, when it’s a section that only one car can get through....and then they look at YOU like YOU’RE the dumbass.

Yeah, love those people.

adena | 04.27.2006 | 11:38 AM

Dude, try living in a college town.

zoe | 04.27.2006 | 11:41 AM

I hate those people who walk out in front of you too. Like at the grocery store. I always look both ways (just like I was taught) and I wave at people who stop for me, then I jog across so they don’t have to wait twenty minutes. It would be fun to rev up the engine once in a while to freak people out.

Heather | 04.27.2006 | 11:54 AM

Main Street in my town is awful.  Nobody looks. They all just walk out and assume you won’t hit them.  If it weren’t for that fear I have of becoming someone’s prison bitch, I’d just plow right through the fuckers and drive off with the finger in the air.  They infuriate me.

T. | 04.27.2006 | 12:02 PM

those signs are for the stupid people that are sue happy… an example being ordering a cup of coffee from McD’s and not expecting it to be hot?!?!  Hello?

Jen | 04.27.2006 | 12:22 PM

Heather, <i>you’re</i> the kind of pedestrian I like. I do the same thing. Look both ways, wave at the folks to stop for you. Basic common courtesty.

T, heehee, I can just imagine the bloody path of roadkill you’d be leaving behind you.

J, yeah this is definitely a society of sue-happy individuals.

Geeky Dragon Girl | 04.27.2006 | 12:44 PM

Hehe, you lot should see <i>both</i> the drivers and the pedestrians here in Cyprus. Not to mention the cyclist. You would think there were no rules at all, they are all maniacs!

I especially love the way drivers go pass the line before stopping at traffic lights only to start beeping like mad because they’re all blocking each other off! I’ve never understood why it is so important for them to be that extra car length in front of the lights?

You gotta wonder what kind of person sues because their coffee was hot and god forbid there be moving cars in a parking garage! Lmao!

Sarah | 04.27.2006 | 1:20 PM

in case you didn’t know, you should always cook your frozen pizza before eating it.

oh and lather, rinse, repeat.

also do not ingest african violet plant food.

Anything to help.

Miss Ann Thrope | 04.27.2006 | 1:33 PM

What ever happened to common sense? GAHHH

french canadian lady | 04.27.2006 | 1:57 PM

Guess it isn’t that common anymore

Vixen | 04.27.2006 | 2:03 PM

Miss Ann, ever the do-gooder, thanks for the advice.

Sarah, as bad as I might think something is here, it’s always worse somewhere else.

Vixen and French canadian lady, it definitely isn’t common. Though even if you had no sense, I think common courtesy would go a long way. It wouldn’t require much thought. Would you want someone doing that to you? No? THEN DON’T DO IT!

Geeky Dragon Girl | 04.27.2006 | 2:14 PM

Parking garages or “parkades” are foreign structures here, it’s all open air parking. Given the state of our parking lot though I’d almost welcome speed bumps. Small cars get lost in the pot holes and I’m sure even the grand canyon doesn’t have crevices quite so large.

Wild Blue | 04.27.2006 | 3:42 PM

Stupid people really piss me off. Did ya know that? *grin*

Good luck on your battle hon!

Tracy | 04.27.2006 | 6:28 PM

Thanks Tracy, I might need the luck. The blog I took on is ranked second in the top 50 listings. Yikes. Oh no! My word verification is “loser”! My blog is a traitor!!
