I do so agree with you on comfort.
but for me…
white and only white.
all of my underwear are the same...and they are white.
i can see no good reason to mess around with patterns and fabrics and lacey bits.
(ok, I will cop to the fact I have a couple pairs that are not white and somewhat sultry… but those are to be seen...and touched… different thing alltogether)
also… they must all be in excellent condition. no wear and tear, no ‘time of the month’ ones… they either meet my standards or are replaced.
and yes. i am wrapped tight. but my underwear is comfortable smile

weese | 05.16.2006 | 10:40 AM

Wow, weese that sounds very… military! But that definitely saves you the trouble of figuring out which ones to wear that day.

Geeky Dragon Girl | 05.16.2006 | 10:47 AM

I love this post! I have a panty thing....I love buying all the wildest prints and colors....but then I walk around the house in my underwear all day. Someone should remind me to draw the curtains, though. I fear my neighbors think I’m weird!

Dana | 05.16.2006 | 10:52 AM

Comfort all the way, well sort of, I mean you’ll never catch me in granny panties. Bikini briefs all the way, until I get home then it’s all underware are off. BP wants me to wear the boxer briefs, so I tried them. Cute, yes, but I was right about feeling suffocated, thank god they didn’t have to stay on for long.
I’m kind of a plain jane when it comes to patterns though. Color I don’t mind, though I own mostly white.

zoe | 05.16.2006 | 11:13 AM

Always learning new things about you, aren’t we?

I like funky underwear. I don’t like uncomfortable underwear. I like the look of boyshorts but they’re uncomfortable for me. They’re always riding up. I don’t usually have a problem with thongs. I like Victoria’s Secret ones. I find them comfortable.

I have some camo ones and polka dot ones that I wear all the time.

T. | 05.16.2006 | 11:29 AM

I recommend boxers myself..and it’s reassuring to hear you wash ‘em before putting ‘em in the dresser drawer.

mike | 05.16.2006 | 11:31 AM

Dana, maybe you should pay your neighbors a visit and discreetly see if any of them have a telescope or binoculars hanging by the window!

Zoe, I’ve never tried boxer briefs. They look like they might be comfortable, but I don’t know. They’d probably feel like shorts to me and I’d start wearing them in public, hee!

T, I have a pair of boyshorts and they do like to ride up all the time. It’s too bad, because they’re cute. I don’t quite understand how thongs are comfortable though. Those things ride up faster than the boyshorts do.

Geeky Dragon Girl | 05.16.2006 | 11:39 AM

I do have a few boxers Mike, but I wear them as shorts. Things that big and loose just aren’t underwear to me.

Geeky Dragon Girl | 05.16.2006 | 11:41 AM

Comfort must not be compromised. Basic black for me.

Deborah | 05.16.2006 | 11:46 AM

1. Never wear cotton underwear with Jeans or slacks. They WILL ride up into your nether regions. Best to stick with satin - even if you are wearing a thong.

That is about the only rule that I adhere to where my undies are concerned. *nod*

Well, that and I stick to boxer-briefs when riding my motorcycle. (they are just more comfy on my girlie-rear)

mg | 05.16.2006 | 12:25 PM

I used to think thongs were the devil, but somehow I gave a pair a chance once, and I learned that it is indeed possible to get used to thongs. Mind you, I am no fan of showing off thongs above your pants. I’m a cotton gal, but I like wild prints. My current favorite has little cartoon “kapow!"s all over them.

Super Woman | 05.16.2006 | 12:37 PM

Geeky,

You gotta get a good thong. That’s the key. The ones I like are this great material that stays put and it’s really light and comfortable. It’s like you’re wearing nothing but not, you know. You don’t notice them but it’s not like you’re naked either. If that makes senserasberry

BTW, my verification word is whizbang. WTF?

T. | 05.16.2006 | 12:59 PM

Those Kapow undies sound really cute, and quite appropriate considering you are SUPERWOMAN!

MG, I usually don’t have a problem with cotton and jeans, though I might if I wore tighter jeans, heh.

Deborah, I like black too.

Geeky Dragon Girl | 05.16.2006 | 1:01 PM

T, I guess I just can’t get over how a thong could possibly stay where I want it without staples or glue, heehee. But yes I know what you mean about feeling like you’re wearing nothing, but not. Wearing nothing yields too much of an “open to the world” feeling that I don’t like. And jeans just aren’t that comfortable pressing against your womanly space.

And as for “whizbang”, I like to make stuff up, however I’ve actually heard this word before. It means expert.

Geeky Dragon Girl | 05.16.2006 | 1:29 PM

"womanly space” LOL. I tried to find a picture of the great thongs that I have but I don’t think they sell them anymore. Sigh....I guess I’ll have to find more good thongs.

T. | 05.16.2006 | 1:39 PM

There is nothing worse than underwear that makes you squirm!

Personally I tend to chop and change between thongs and little short type ones depending on my mood.

The biggest problem I have at the moment is trying to not stretch my best ones by wearing them with the bump! It’s so tempting to pop on my favourite funky knickers, but then I know if I wear them now they’ll get all stretched and the damn elasctic will be useless later.

So most my underwear is pretty boring at the mo sad

Sarah | 05.16.2006 | 1:53 PM

I LOVE the lacy thongs. No lines. But sometimes, they do tend to creep over the tops of whatever you’re wearing them under.

J. | 05.16.2006 | 2:13 PM

Oh I’m a cotton girl all the way well ok no..I like satin..the stretchy satin ones are comfy because they move with you. But yeah I’m a hanes hi-cut brief type of gal...but I love funky designs, patterns and colors smile

Donna | 05.16.2006 | 2:55 PM

hmm, i would think military underwear would be camo… this would so not work for me. :o)

weese | 05.16.2006 | 3:04 PM

Weese, I think the military would have camo underwear only if they expected you to be running around in the bushes without pants.

J, ugh, lacy stuff I can’t stand to wear. Too girly. Though I’m fine with other people wearing them. smile

Sarah, I can imagine the temptation to put on the funky favorites. Must resist!

T, why do they always discontinue the comfy ones? Newer models aren’t always better.

Geeky Dragon Girl | 05.16.2006 | 3:32 PM

I agree with the comfort thing. I have thongs and I have sexy lacy panties, but they rarely get worn.

As far as color/pattern - I’m all OCD and have to wear blue undies. Unless I’m on my period, then I wear the one with the ugly obnoxious prints that were in the package with my pretty blue ones.

Heather | 05.16.2006 | 3:34 PM

It is funny your post is about undies…..last night I was at Wal-Mart (pain in the ass) and decided to try out the new boy shorts. Today is my first day wearing them. Not bad. They are comfy. That is rule #1. I shamelessly admit I wanted to by Hanes because of their commercials. I must have stood there for 30 minutes reading the packages. I bought one pkg. of white low-rise tag less bikini cut and one pkg. of the low- rise boy shorts. Rule #2 must be low rise. On occasion, I don’t wear undies at all. Rule #3 my undies have to match my bra. Long ago when I was with my ex BF I wore only Victoria Secret and I matched every day. Today no more BF’s and only cotton!

Karen Lynn | 05.16.2006 | 4:16 PM

I have boxers I wear for shorts.
I have granny pannys for that time.
I have thongs for everyday. Except the stringy ones because those are horrible floss offenders!

Keb | 05.16.2006 | 4:17 PM

Granny panties? Gads! Never! Although, sometimes I like a nice, comfortable cotton pair but it’s gotta be low rise.

T. | 05.16.2006 | 7:10 PM

I’m the same way and I LOVE all kinds of crazy colors and prints, I usually wear jeans so that doesn’t matter.
I think you might like Hanes-her-way or Fruit-of-the-Loom. They have all different kinds of cuts and styles and leopard prints and everything.
I used to like to wear a thong occasionally, but I find that after a few hours, my anus would literally hurt, it would be sore the next day, even. That just doesn’t do it for me.

annie | 05.16.2006 | 8:21 PM

Oh gawd, I wear all sorts of colors and patterns and prints. But I don’t wear the thongs ‘cause they put me in a bad mood. Yuck. I once saw a girl who had cameltoe so bad and her pants were so tight that you could see her thong firmly planted in her front crack. GAG A FUCKING MAGGOT. PUT THAT SHIT AWAY. big surprise

Kentucky Girl | 05.17.2006 | 2:31 AM

I tend to stick with the cotton thongs. Hydraulic oil and PVC primer can bleed right through jeans and eat up undies. (Learn something new every day!) Thongs are the best.

Maggie | 05.17.2006 | 7:13 AM

Annie, I do like Hanes Her Way and I’ve got on a pair of Fruit of the Loom right now. Wonderful discoveries they were.

Maggie, ack! I take it you never wear your favorites to a job that might be spewing such chemicals?

KG, cameltoe, heehee! Why do some people insist on wearing stuff that tight?

Heather, for some reason blue undies just seems to be a funny thing to be OCD about. I would’ve expected white.

Karen, I agree, must be low rise. However I rarely match the bra with the panties on purpose. If they match it’s usually by accident.

Keb, I too have panties that I wear for that time of the month an no other time.

Geeky Dragon Girl | 05.17.2006 | 8:32 AM

you crack me up.

weese | 05.17.2006 | 10:04 AM
