I have my first request (and thanks also for being the first to comment there.) Yippee! I have a general idea about the goodness of beans, but I will look into specifics, because now I want to know too. Thanks T!
I was looking at my package of beans thinking why? and then I thought, I know, I’ll ask Geeky Dragon Girl. I’ve been trying to convince Mr. T to eat healthier and it’s been a hard sell. He feels invincible cause he’s lost 80 pounds in the last year. He thinks he knows a thing or two about food now. I want to start buying all organic and he thinks that’s silly.
Heh, yeah it takes some folks longer to get onto the health bandwagon than others. Some people never get on. I’d like to start buying all organic myself, but it’s so damn expensive!
Cool! I’ve slowly become a health nut myself. But I take a lot of alternative supplements. My father in law does a lot of research on alternative medicine and I get to benefit from it.
I’m definitely open to alternative medicine. My mom is really into Traditional Chinese Medicine and I believe most of it has a lot of merit. I think alternative medicine is more about treating causes while traditional western medicine is all about treating the symptoms.
T, I forgot to mention that if I had needed to lose 80 pounds and actually managed to do it, I too would beat my chest like an invincible beast.
I used to do that kind of thing, keep different blogs for different purposes. It turned out to be far more draining than I expected. It took me about a year to learn how to really write unpopular posts, but I’m finally in a one blog, take it or leave it frame of mind.
I’m a bit of health nut too, usually run 4 times and a week do tae bo (home dvd) amongst other forms of exercise and of course try to eat really healthy-although I will never omit Ben and Jerrys from my diet
I’ve had to temporarily stop all the exercise though after a few complications early on in my pregnancy. Most I’m allowed to do at the moment is walking, oh and aqua-natal which I start this week and will be a new experience for me.
Anyway, I’m also a quaified massage therapist who plans to train as a sports massage therapist and nutritionist next year! So I found your other blog really interesting! I have attempted my own blog associated with massage, nutrition and fitness but it needs a lot more work before it goes online (eventually it will be my ‘business’ site).
Heh. Cool for you! Not my thing, but cool nonetheless.
I love Bitchet’s blog! *clicks over*
Sarah, that’s great! I wish I were less geeky and more motivated to get off my ass to exercise. I had a coworker who ran 4 miles every morning. She’d get up at 4am just to do it. When she got pregnant she kept righ to doing it until she got heavier then gradually reduced the mileage. She finally quit running for a short while when it finally got painful to do so. Now that’s a nut.
I would ask if you were gonna put up some healthy recipes there...but then I remembered your chicken post!
I popped over but I’ll have a good long look later.
Any chance you’ll be putting up some exercise tips?
Wow 4am, yep thats a nut!
I was hoping to keep up the running whilst pregnant but it seems the baby had different ideas! I felt really frumpy and sluggish for ages because I had to stop cold turkey (was on bed rest for 3 weeks), feeling better now I’ve become a bit more active again though and I’m looking forward to my first aqua natal class tomorrow morning
Anyway, I probably wouldn’t have managed to keep running as long as your coworker did, bet she didn’t take long to lose the baby weight either!
She was petite to begin with, and her baby was tiny, which is probably why she was able to run for so long. But she looked completely normal again only a month after the birth. Well… maybe with bigger breasts, heh.
Di, those are all good suggestions. And ha ha not all my cooking comes out terrible. Besides, the cooking tips I give will be things I glean from other sources, like my sweety who CAN cook. Exercise tips would be good too. Lots of material to cover!
I love Bitchet. She’s awesome.
I have a request for your health nut blog. I’ve recently been trying to figure a way to incorporate beans into the diet (no jokes about the musical fruit please. My husband already covered that). I bought some red beans but don’t really know what to do with them. I need some ideas and I’d also like to know why I should be eating them. I know they have great health benefits but what those benefits are, I don’t know.
