Hmm, I wonder if we can join forces and put our ideas together! It’s a fairly huge project to take on alone. If there’s a development “team” then we might be able to put out a better product. I’ll get in touch with you via email for more details.
see now… this is a much better use of technology than all that twittering nonesense. technology should help us get together face to face… not to keep us from that.
While I agree with your statement, I think Twitter was designed to keep people in touch while they are apart. I personally have a tendency to drop out of touch rather easily.
I like the idea of localized functionality. We are sort of in the same boat as you, as far as no lesbian friends who are local. I’d like to have more friends locally who are a part of the GLBT community, but it’s hard enough finding people who you easily connect with the way it is.
BP and I have been working on ideas for a lesbian site too, though not fully a social networking site. She is also working on digg type of application for facebook, that is GLBT specific. But she’s been busy with freelance stuff and we haven’t had time to work on our projects.
I’ll see if BP might be able to help you out. I know she’s been learning PHP, but I don’t know how experienced she is with it.
