Yep, that was pretty much the highlight of the visit. You made the right decision in not going.
We went to that. We had fun but only because we were with people who were fun to talk to and we spent a lot of time in the shade talking to them. Oh and I liked the dancing. But you could do both of those things without the festival and then you would not have the wandering around on a hot road feeling mildly herded experience.
I really loved seeing the pin setting machine on the traveling bowling alley. I watched it for a long time.
I’m sorry you didn’t have a better time, but I’m glad you did get in some good people watching time!
That’s my favorite thing to do when I’m surrounded by crowds.

Di, if it wasn’t for the colorful crowds then it would have been a total waste of time.
Sounds like a blast. Now I’m kinda glad I didn’t go. I debated back and forth for a long time. I was almost sad I missed it until I saw your report of the highlight - screaming beached whale… Good Times!
