Enjoy your time with her. My mom has been gone for almost three years now...and the last few years of her life she was a bit of a burden...but I wouldn’t mind having the burden back to tell you the truth.

ha… i just spend most of the weekend installing my mom’s virus protection. i love the on-call support too…

are you pms’ing or something.  you sure have been bitchy in your last few posts.  no offense meant, just an observation.

cheynne | 07.20.2006 | 11:43 AM

Cheynne, as much as I would like everything to be rainbows and butterflies all the time, yes I do often go through bitch phases. The prospect of visiting my mom always puts me in a peeved mood.

Weese, on-call tech support, ha! Just last week she called me because her DSL wasn’t working. I told her to call the DSL tech support line and find out if there was an outage. The thought hadn’t even occurred to her. They did indeed have an outage.

Mike, maybe I’m just cold and people will think less of me, but I don’t think I will miss her much. I don’t miss my dad at all.

Aww...Mums are like that.  Mine does the same thing to me, but I’m no computer whiz or handyperson.  In fact SHE and my dad know more about those things, but she’d prefer me to sit on her slowass computer and figure crap out.  What-ev.

Yikes, hate to say it, but that does sounds cold.  Sorry you and your mum dont get along well.  My mom was a royal pain in the ass too, but I miss her.

Well, here’s to hoping things get better for ya real soon.

cheynne | 07.20.2006 | 2:11 PM

Good luck.  That can be tough sometimes.  smile

It’s great to be in a position to give something back to our parents.

I finally talked my mother into DSL.  Now she wonders why she waited so long to switch.  Doh.

Suzanne | 07.20.2006 | 4:49 PM

Good luck with the visit :D

My tech advice to my mother is to throw the damn computer out the window and go back to writing letters. I don’t understand, for the life of me, how someone who does not look at porn or download “free” games managed to get as much shit installed as she does.

BTW, I’ve been meaning to come to your blog for the longest time and just sit down and read it, and finally had the time.  I’m glad I did.
