That is awesome news. I just don’t understand why anyone would care if two people who loved each other want to show their commitment under the institution of marriage.
Bobolink, from what I understand, Canada rawks! I wouldn’t mind living there if it didn’t get so cold in winter.
Avi, I don’t understand it either. The uber-religious folks are determined to make life miserable for anyone who doesn’t agree with their beliefs. What’s so bad about “live and let live”?
You know, most straight people are pretty relaxed about the question of gay marriage. In Ontario, gay marriage has been legal for about 7 years. Guess what? The sky is still up there.
Federally, gay marriage has been legal for about 5 years per an act of the federal parliament. The Conservative federal government elected 2 years ago tried to repeal this act but could not get enough votes, even within its own party, to do this. Mind you, the Conservative government has at least two openly gay cabinet ministers.`It makes one wonder how effective Senator Larry Craig could have been if he had been able to to be open about his homosexuality instead of marrying a beard and pursuing an anti-homosexual agenda to mask this?
