Aww...I’m so happy for you with the new job and vacay and everything! FWEEE! Glad to see you so happy!

Don’t bring any knives.

You’d think that would be obvious. I just had an employee fly to Atlanta and back with a set of knives (not like pocket knives, but killing knives) in her purse!

Avitable | 09.06.2007 | 8:12 AM

In her purse?? shock I’m completely baffled by that… I mean, a little common sense, y’know? I don’t think that would be allowed even before 9/11!

Geeky Dragon Girl | 09.06.2007 | 8:18 AM

Yeah, the security didn’t even notice it.

Avitable | 09.06.2007 | 8:19 AM

WTF? Are you serious! Holy crap, and here they are scrutinizing our shoes for who knows what. People are waltzing through with entire sets of 12-inch knives. Yippee. Well I’m glad she didn’t lose custody of those knives, they aren’t cheap!

KG, I like being happy! It’s… well, a happy feeling! silly

Geeky Dragon Girl | 09.06.2007 | 8:24 AM

Oh I love a happy, bouncy dragon!!!!

Congrats on the new job and hey I have to laugh because you are the only person I know besides me who starts a new job by going on vacation first!!!

Love how that worked out!!!.

Have fun in Cancun and yes, do dedicate that to me, even if you aren’t drinking LOL. :0) I still need it. Or a picture of a young, hot cabana boy. Either way.

Weekends Off | 09.06.2007 | 9:53 AM

Heehee, I think I did that on one other job. I started working there, but with the understanding that I had a 2-week trip planned in the same month I was starting.

Since the resort I’ll be at is “adults only” there might be some nice hardbodies (of both genders) parading themselves around.

For the travel details you can go to the TSA website. Basically, you can bring liquids and gels in 3oz containers if they all fit in a 1 quart clear, plastic, “ziploc” bag.

You can bring your laptop, just take it out of its case/bag when you put it through the x-ray.

A trick: you can bring an EMPTY bottle for water. Bring your empty bottle through security and fill it up at a water fountain near your gate. You CAN bring the now full bottle on the plane with you. This saves you paying airport prices for water. Just don’t bring a bottle you’d had to lose in case they change their minds on this.

Great tips Jamy, thank you!

Wear flipflops if you can, makes slipping the shoes off much easier.
No mace on board (you’d think this was obvious, but not so much for my sister). Also no nail clippers :p
Congrats on the new job!!

Congratulations and have a great time on vacation !

Let's Kill Saturday Night | 09.07.2007 | 3:22 AM

The Woo Hoo song was by Blur, It’s called Song 2...for future reference. grin

Cancun is definitely worthy of a Woo Hoo! Congrats on your new job!

Mia | 09.08.2007 | 8:30 PM

Congrats on the new job!! Though when reading this post my word was “grin.” How fitting was that?

Audi | 09.09.2007 | 7:41 PM

Congrats on the new job! Change is the bomb. smile

Erica AP | 09.10.2007 | 9:21 AM

Oh, a new job AND vacation first?! Sheese, that is NICE.

That “woo-hoo” song is Blur.

annie | 09.15.2007 | 5:27 PM

Me, (I feel a little odd directing a comment at “me” because it’s not really me… uh nevermind.) Actually nail clippers are allowed. It said so on the official TSA website.

Let’s Kill, thanks! It was an awsome trip. I’ll tell more about it later.
Mia, thanks for the info! After posting that I had decided that it was neither of the bands I mentioned, but couldn’t think of the correct one. Glad somebody knew what I was talking about!

Audi, that was definitely a perfect word verification for this post.

Erica, I agree. Change, though scary sometimes, is almost always exciting!

Annie, it’s definitely a double whammy of goodness. And I’m glad you knew what song I was referring to as well!
