Thanks! It’s looking good so far. They’ve agreed to let me switch to part time! They just can’t guarantee that I’ll be able to switch back to fulltime since they’ll likely hire some extra help.

Definitely, if your employer is engaging in unethical behavior and possibly encouraging the same, you need to be out. You don’t need the guilt associated with it. You would end up hating yourself.

I haven’t attempted to go to networking events yet. I’ve been concentrating more on getting a better job in the immediate term. Networking is useful for the future. But I’ve been keeping in mind that helping others opens more doors than simply talking, which works well for me. I’d rather help than talk.
