It wouldn’t be so bad if I would actually plan for them. It’s not like they’re surprises. They just tend to appear “suddenly” because I wasn’t paying attention.

my wife is an ex-manhattan software vp… and then...she stopped.
completly… for a year.
we made a spreadsheet.
and we survived.
she’s never gone back to being an executive and we’ve never been happier.
Those high salaries always come with an equally high price tag. If you can’t enjoy yourself, what good is the money! Good for her.

I’ve gotten into this weird habit of waking up at 5am and flipping myself out about all of this financial crap. It totally sucks.
Lucky for me that doesn’t happen until after I’m fully awake. 
I know what you mean about a few annual bills coming due all at once. I hate when that happens!
