I did the same thing.... with rice.
I really like that pot too - o well.
Lucky for me I was able to salvage the pot. I love steel wool.
Adena, we do have a slow cooker, but never thought about using it to cook beans in.
I did that recently with pasta. There was smoke everywhere. It sucked.
Lol, your kitchen antics are petrifying me! Toxic broccoli, bean slag and God knows what else!
Don’t mind me, my latest culinary burn was a pot of soup. How can you burn soup--it’s liquid!! Blame the season premiere of Alias for that. Oh well.
Now I know why I eat out a lot.
T, I’ve never actually burned pasta, though I have burned rice. Sucks when the water runs out, doesn’t it?
Vixen, wow, you burned soup? You’re more talented than me!
Mike, you don’t want to join the kitchen slag gang?
Oh this is funny. My word this time is “yummy”, how ironic.
You’re talking to someone here who considers making toast baking.
Wow...my word happens to be wonderbuns.
(What kind of blog is this? *snickers*)
Heehee! What kind of blog is this? It’s one that’s taking toast-baking to a whole new level.
off topic of this post (besides I can’t cook to save my life but beans sounds pretty yummy about now)...I just voted for you in the Blogwar...good luck.
Oh yeah, I’ve burnt tomato soup before. Other than that, and that one time I made really crunchy mashed potatoes - I’m actually a good cook.
I thought you didn’t battle during the day?? Well, ya always got my vote, hon! Good luck!
Have a great day!
I will be back later to read everything like I was supposed to the other day!
Heather, crunchy mashed potatoes! Yum! Heehee
Tracy, I actually started that last night. I guess it’s been slow going and is still up there. I might be in trouble if it doesn’t finish soon. Thanks for your vote!
Funny, I burnt dinner watching this past weeks episode of America’s Next Top Model...that show is addicting!
I’m secretly in love with Tyra ...
It’s so addicting, isn’t it? We need to petition them to release the rest of the seasons onto DVD. I love that Tyra isn’t into the whole stick-person model that the industry seems to favor. I also like that she’s funny, and isn’t afraid to offer honest criticism without mincing words (unlike Paula Abdul), but without being cruel (unlike Simon Cowell). She seems like a real person (albeit a glamorous one). And I am SO glad there’s no audience voting.
When I first read “slag” I thought you were talking about the English slang. “What’s she saying here? ‘Bean tramp?’ This should be a fun post.” Yeah, so totally not what I expected. Go back and write a post about a slut who likes beans, please.
I destroyed one of Barb’s double boilers while trying to make spaghetti. Who knew that liner would fit in there so well that I wouldn’t be able to tell it was actually two pans?
Aww sorry Joe, I can see how you’d be all excited about bean tramps. I wasn’t aware of the slang version of the word. I’ll try harder next time to write about trashy women.
I’m not making it up, honest. slag
We all knew a tramp that liked beans...this is for you Joe...this woman would um *do things* with men for a bowl of beans...HAHAHA!! Gosh I had forgotten about that until I read the bean slag title as well.
Someone needs to buy you a slow cooker.
