Chad, I’m imagining your future house full of things like Rudolph giving the finger/hoof to Santa and elves mooning people.
I’m so glad I’ve never been involved in that...sometimes I’m glad I’m Jew.
Or...you could possibly try to use the neighbors power source as much as possible.
LOL! Mike I can imagine the stealthy extension cord branching off discreetly from the neighbor’s.
Robin, sometimes I think Jewish people are so much more genuine.
I let my husband do the tree lights and all the outside decorations. I’m not much of a Christmas person.
first - its all about how you put the lights away, which makes them a breeze to take out each year. we simply roll them with the hand to elbow method - like you would a rope or an extension cord. then place them in a container with a sheet of tissue in between each one. they come out tangle free.
once you have them out, plug them in for a quick test. if they don’t work - don’t sweat it - toss ‘em.
run down to target (try to avoid buying a jeep on the way) and pick up new ones. they are two bucks each.
splurge and get a timer too. it will save money and… its just so fun to come home after work and have your house all lit up!
When I was a wee lad, the old fart (my dad) got tired of climbing ladders in the snow and ice in early december. Solution: don’t take em down!
Weese, good advice! We were rolling them into balls, which don’t usually get tangled, but the tangling often occurs while stringing them around plants and stuff.
Dave, at the last house we lived at, that’s exactly what we did. They stopped working.
Maybe this is why our upstairs neighbors leave their Christmas lights on all year round. Well, we just moved into this apartment in June, but they were there then.
I’m not all that into putting up crap either, but I will be helping some friends with theirs this weekend. However, if I ever get my own house, then its on. I will have the best decorations ever.
