I swear, the holidays bring out the worst in everyone. If the new law was you couldn’t buy gifts over the holidays I bet there would be a huge difference.

Robin | 12.18.2006 | 8:00 AM

If such a law even came close to existence here, there would be a huge panic. I wonder how they would behave in France, where stores close whenever they feel like it?

Geeky Dragon Girl | 12.18.2006 | 8:19 AM

...I’ve never seen it THAT bad before. It’s days like these I’m glad I don’t work in retail.

Liane | 12.18.2006 | 8:51 AM

wow.. i have never seen that either.
I think i will just stay home this week.

weese | 12.18.2006 | 9:03 AM

Working retail during Christmas has to be a nightmare. I’ve never seen it this bad before either. Thing is, everything in this store is at a discounted price, so it’s not like you have to clamber over people to grab something before someone else does.

Geeky Dragon Girl | 12.18.2006 | 9:11 AM

I’ve been watching this for 3 weeks now. Thankfully just another week of the madness. Kids in the mall are driving me insane...er...insaner?

mike | 12.18.2006 | 10:41 AM

Oh I know! Sooo many brats and none of them ever look where they’re going. The noises they make are the most annoying of all.

Geeky Dragon Girl | 12.18.2006 | 10:49 AM

No kidding! A friend and I were just discussing that today, when every single store we went to looked like a tornado had hit it.
People can be so rude and self-serving at this time of year. That’s NOT what it’s supposed to be about.

J. | 12.18.2006 | 12:31 PM

I agree completely. People lose sight about what really matters. I was standing in line and saw someone brush past a display and knock a bunch of shoes off the shelf. They didn’t even look back. I put the shoes back on the shelf. Follow my example people! Just be a decent human!

Geeky Dragon Girl | 12.18.2006 | 12:35 PM

Everytime I have been in a ross it looked like that. Same for TJ Maxx. That is all year around. LOL

Divalicious | 12.18.2006 | 1:22 PM

Gah, sounds like these storeshave some serious restocking issues. It’s fine if they don’t want to put stuff back in order, but at least have some associates picking the crap up off the floor!

Geeky Dragon Girl | 12.18.2006 | 1:32 PM

Wow! I am speechless.
Being from California, I can tell you that this is what stores look like after an earthquake. Correction: this looks WORSE than after an earthquake…

Sonja | 12.18.2006 | 2:05 PM

I’m in So-Cal too, and I was fully expecting to find some sort of riot going on in these aisles. But there was none. Just shoppers going about their business.

Geeky Dragon Girl | 12.18.2006 | 2:12 PM

nice job with the pics. i thought they wouldnt look as good as they do. Good job!

Mar | 12.18.2006 | 3:41 PM

That shop looks bloody awful! Rabid xmas shoppers scare me nearly as much as rabid January sales shoppers. Fucking comsumerzillas. And if it makes you feel any better about leaving your xmas shopping til now, I haven’t even done any yet. I am a bad and disorganised person.

Tanya | 12.18.2006 | 5:23 PM

Thanks Mar sweety! They’re not bad for smudgy cell phone pics.

Tanya, it’s enough to make you wanna say “screw ‘em all, nobody’s getting anything this year!” Someone was telling me about a friend who tells everyone they’re not getting their gifts until January. Atta way to buck tradition!

Geeky Dragon Girl | 12.18.2006 | 8:46 PM

Holy fucksticks, batman. That is some mess.

But uhm, would you mind going back to that store and seeing if you can find two of those brown checkered pillows? I’d really appreciate it. rotfl

Kentucky Girl | 12.18.2006 | 10:14 PM

Wow! I’ve never seen a store get that bad!

Don’t feel so bad about the last minute shopping, I haven’t even started.

Heather | 12.19.2006 | 2:39 AM

They were commenting on the news about the holiday mess, it’s very thoughless of people to trash the stores like that. They were commenting because handicapped people are having a hard time getting their shopping done...or something like that...I dunno I was half asleep while watching this morning.

Weekends Off | 12.19.2006 | 5:50 AM

LOL KG, you are so funny. Yeah I would so love to go back and look for those pillows for you.

Heather, just give everyone a lump of coal. Considering how screwed up some of your family members are, I’m sure they deserve it.

Di, people who can walk have a hard time getting through that mess! I can’t imagine wheelchairs being able to get anywhere.

Geeky Dragon Girl | 12.19.2006 | 7:10 AM

wow! I am glad I am not in retail. I am thinking they were short handed because you are supposed to check your area every hour and clean up as best you can during your shift.

But still....such disrespect.

Da Duck | 12.19.2006 | 10:28 AM

the ross in my area always looks like a version of this..though not this bad. I know it’s mostly the customers..but i swear every employee i see at a ross is busy trying to not make eye contact and blend into the walls..the effort seems to exhaust them too much to clean...ever. I dont believe i’ve ever seen anyone stocking shelves there..lol

KaraMia | 12.19.2006 | 10:05 PM

Da Duck, I imagine the hordes of shoppers were overpowering their stocking abilities. Either that or they just didn’t care.

KaraMia, you’re right! I’ve never seen them stocking the shelves either.

Geeky Dragon Girl | 12.20.2006 | 6:36 AM

OMG! Is that the Ross in my town? It looked JUST like that last week.
