Maybe I just didn’t inherit the girl gene that makes your brain justify spending $10,000 on a dress. I have never unsterstood the whole big wedding/bridezilla thing. It just seems like such a waste of money, man you could use that money on a house. And I mean really, no one really wants to be there unless there is free booze, and that only makes socializing with a large group of people moderately tolerable.

Yanno...I find the more I dread going to something like this...as you posted earlier...the better it seems to turn out. Nice to hear you had a good time.

Awww sounds like a good time. I also don’t understand how people can spend that much money on a wedding.

Donna | 05.29.2006 | 10:14 PM

Glad you had a good time!! Made my mouth water to read the menu...and I was so pleased to see that Australian lobster made the menu!! grin

Ha ha, my word verification is ‘technotard’. What is that, like a retard who can’t use technology?? Excuse me, I very well can!!

Miss Optimistic | 05.29.2006 | 10:28 PM

Good grief! My entire WEDDING didn’t cost $10,000, and yet we managed to have a wonderfully elegant and cozy (yes, such a thing *is* possible wink ) wedding.

It’s been three years, and I can honestly say, I wouldn’t do a single thing different, if I could go back in time and relive the day.

whoo hoo! works!

$10,000 for a one-time wear (well, supposedly)? Eeek! The food sounded yummy. The food is always the highlight of any wedding I go to (for Jac, it’s the food and of course the free booze). And I laughed when I read your description of yourself as “that girl who never refused an appetizer tray passing by”. That’s me too! Heheh.

My word is wacko - I have a cat named that!

My wedding was very small. I borrowed my dress, my grandmother bought my cake, my mom bought the flowers, we got married at my father in law’s house and he paid for the food. The only thing we paid for was my hair style and his tux rental.

You didn’t fight anyone over your plate did you?

Heather | 05.30.2006 | 4:25 AM

I love those kinds of weddings. And waiters!!
I’m genetically incapable of spending $10,000 on a dress. It’s just not right.

The food sounds awesome! Glad it wasn’t too painful for ya. Sounds like it was a beautiful location.

I spent a fuckton on my wedding--not as much as those people but a lot. I do think that if I had it to do over, I would fly off to Italy and get married on a gondola.

T. | 05.30.2006 | 10:34 AM

A gondola! Yeah! Now that would be worth the airfare.

Maggie, I agree whole heartedly, it just ain’t right.

Heather, ha! No not this time. But you know I would’ve if they tried to prematurely take my food!

TFP, yup, definitely the food. Everything else is just waiting time.

Adena, how cuuuute! A little firebreather…

Maria, yeah I think they’re going to regret spending that much later.

Miss Optimistic, heh, I wasn’t necessarily calling you a technotard. I just thought it was a funny word.

Donna, I cannot even begin to fathom the reasoning behind it.

Mike, so true! The worse it is in your mind, the better the actual event turns out to be.

Zoe, you woulda loved it… open bar all night long!
