Thar she blows!

I was pumping gas on my way to work yesterday morning when I saw this down the street:

It was a curious sight.  I walked a little closer to see if it really was a spout of water shooting straight up into the air.  It was! I was fascinated. I only see this stuff on TV—after an exciting car chase, a fire hydrant gets knocked over and you get an instant fountain. After finishing with the gas, I was going in that direction anyway, so I was able to get an even closer photo. Luckily they only had to shut down the lane going in the opposite direction. It was so surreal, even the two cops blocking the traffic with their cars couldn’t tear their eyes away as a fire crew was working the scene.
